Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: 1 t Water Salts
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 40L
Steep: 45 min @ 165 F
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.093 3 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Honey
1 t Irish Moss w/ 15 minutes remaining
Hops: 1.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 2278
Log: Transferred to secondary 28OCT07, after transfer fermentation seemed to stick. Introduced Wyeast 1272 (from starter) 31OCT07. Bottled 09NOV07.
Carbonation: 1 cup priming sugar
Tasting: When bottling the addition of the Wyeast 1272 seemed to give a drier taste--I will probably switch to this yeast next time.
