Log: | One of my goals this year was to make a fruit beer from free fruit, so I took advantage of the nectarine tree in the parking lot at work. I made a gallon of juice in an electric juicer and froze it. I also cut up 3-4 nectarines and froze them separately. I sanitized them carefully with vodka. I added the juice at flame out and cooled immediately. Fermented 63-64 deg. Transferred when fermentation was complete and added the sliced nectarines. I'll probably do this again, but I'll pure the nectarines instead of juicing them. | |||||||
Tasting: | This beer turned out well. I only post my good ones. Aroma is subtle and fruity. Fruit flavors are up front but not overpowering. It's a good balance on tangy fruit and malt. Malt flavors are subtle and lager like. I think You could substitute Many fruits such as peach, apricot, plumb or whatever you creative mind can think of. |
