Fig IPA
Found a monster fig tree in the apartment complex next to mine that nobody but the birds ever touches. Decided to pick a bucket full and see how they turned out in an ale.

Tasting: | tasted after two weeks in bottles and it was terrible. The skin of the figs gave it an awful woody flavor. Almost dumped the whole batch out but decided to give it two more weeks and see what happens. after those two weeks the woody taste was all but gone. maybe just a tiny hint of it in there but hardly noticable. Very enjoyable beer. I would skin the figs next time and it would be golden. |
