Ishi pale ale too
This is a modification of my original Ishi pale ale, more of a tweak but with a couple of major changes in malt and water treatment

| The malt extract used was changed from the original recipie, it is british (or english)alexander's pale malt extract instead of the american malt extract 1 teaspoon irish moss in the last 15 minutes 1/2 cup (PACKED) brown sugar at beginning of boil OG actually measured as 1.050 |

| Yeast: | danstar "windsor" dry yeast, rehydrated as per instructions, with a little wort added | |||||||
| Carbonation: | 3/4 cup priming (corn) sugar | |||||||
| Tasting: | well, it's different. I think i would add more flavor and aroma hops, to balance the brown sugar which i think adds a body and flavour that is odd. next time, i'm gonna try: 1 oz of kent golding at 15, 10 and 5 minutes, with maybe a little willamette in the flavour somewhere. My brewshop tells me that the willamette/kent goldings combination used to be a classic finishing combination for english pale ales two weeks after bottling, the flavors are coming together into a very nice package. Not terrifically complex, but different from the pales I normally make and delicious and refreshing. No rocket surgery here, just good beer. |
