Scottish 69-/

This is by far the most flavorful 3% abv beer I've made. Definitely my favorite session beer.

Brewer: ChriSto Email: -
Beer: Scottish 69-/ Style: Scottish Light Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
25 HCU (~14 SRM)
Bitterness: 14 IBU
OG: 1.036 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 3.0% v/v (2.4% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. Crystal 10L
6 oz. American Munich
8 oz. American crystal 40L
8 oz. American crystal 120L
2 oz. British pale chocolate
Steep: Mash at 154°
Boil: minutes SG 1.030 6.5 gallons
3 lb. 12 oz. Light dry malt extract
Boil for 90 minutes. Can also boil 1 gallon separate down to 1 qt to caramelize and then add to main boil.
Hops: .8 oz. Fuggles (4.6% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1728
Log: 10 days primary @ 70F, 15 days secondary @ 65F.
Carbonation: Medium-low carbonation.
Tasting: Really can't see anything to change. Some people like peated malt flavor in their Scottish ales, but I find it too intense and instead count on the yeast to provide the subtle smokiness - WY1728. This is a great beer to quaff a few pints and have no lingering effects.
