Water: no water treatment.. good old Maryland tap.
Grain: .5 lb. American crystal 120L
.5 lb. American black patent
.5 lb. Roasted barley
.5 lb. Flaked oats
0 lb. Rolled oats
Steep: steeped grains in 3 gal of water at 155 degrees for 40 min then rinsed with warm water
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.108 3.0 gallons
6.6 lb. Light malt extract
.5 lb. Brown sugar
12 oz. Honey
Hops: .5 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 45 min.)
.25 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: used white labs wlp028
Tasting: the last time I did this stotch ale it had a nice balance of malt and hops with a slightly sweet taste as well. All my friends could not get enough...
