Old P
Two trips to Wales this summer where I had Old Peculier from a handpump
at The Blue Anchor Inn, prompted me to brew this.

|||||||
Carbonation: | Primed with 1/3 Black Treacle | |||||||
Tasting: | When I racked the beer to the secondary, I felt that the body was a little thin, so I added 2oz. of dextrin powder. This did improve the body. Next time I will use some CaraPils malt in the mash. From the tap, this is a nice Old Ale, very simular to Old Peculier, not too bitter, but with a nice hop finish. The treacle flavors come through nicely and the wheat give it a nice head. |
