Hash Mark Porter

This is my first attempt at a Porter...
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Beer: Hash Mark Porter Style: Brown Porter
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
53 HCU (~23 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.5% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: Began with 5.5 gal distilled water and added 1 gal drinking water to
aid cooling at end of boil.
Grain: .5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
.5 lb. American chocolate
2 oz. American black patent
.5 lb. Flaked barley
Steep: Steeped grains at 155°F for 1 hour. Added extract and brought to boil
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.052 5.5 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Added Irish Moss and Yeast neutrient at 15 min left on boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Saaz (3.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.9% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.5% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Pitchable British Ale Yeast WLP005. (pitched on yeast cake
of previous batch)
Log: Brewed 9-15-01, Fermenting at 70°F.
Carbonation: Kegged at 40°F/25PSI for 4 days
Tasting: Nonyet... Waiting impatiently...Hopefully...
