Water: | Started with 5 gallons of cold Detroit tap water in brew pot. 1 gal. on stove for rinsing grain bag |

Grain: | 10 oz. German Munich 10 oz. American crystal 40L 2 oz. American chocolate 2 oz. American black patent 2 oz. British chocolate 2 oz. Flaked barley |

Steep: | Heat 5 gal. in brew pot to 152f. Steeped grains in a bag for 30 min. Rinsed grain with 1 gal. clear water at 150 f. |

Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.047 | 6 gallons | |||||
3.3 lb. Light malt extract 3 lb. Dark dry malt extract |

Added 1 tesp. irish moss in last 10 min. | ||||||||
Hops: | .5 oz. Target (8.8% AA, 60 min.) .5 oz. UK Challenger (6.5% AA, 60 min.) .5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.) |

Yeast: | Used 15 grams dry Nottingham Ale yeast re-hydrated in 1/2 cup boiled cooled water. |

Log: | Brewed this batch on 2 Dec. 01 While watching the Lions/Bears game. Hope the ale turns out better than the Lions record. O.G. was 1.051, chilled w/immersion chiller to 70f before pitch. |

Carbonation: | 2.0 volumes | Corn Sugar: 3.13 oz. for 5 gallons @ 70°F | ||||||
I will keg this in 5 gal. "Corny" keg with 3 oz. corn sugar. | ||||||||
