Water: | Use 3 gallons of purified water for the boil and add sufficient tap water to make the 5.5 gallons before adding the yeast. | |||||||
Grain: | 1 lb. American chocolate 4 oz. Roasted barley |

Steep: | Seep Chocolate malt in boiling water for 30 minutes then remove. Add Roasted Barley and Honey the last 30 minutes of boil. |

Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.099 | 3 gallons | |||||
3 lb. Light malt extract 3 lb. Amber malt extract 1 lb. Honey 8 oz. Molasses |

Add - enough instant coffee to make 5 cups of good coffee, or use 5 actual cups of coffee together with the one half cup Blackstrap Molasses last 30 minutes of boil. | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.) 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 30 min.) 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.) |

Yeast: | Coopers. | |||||||
Log: | Primary Fermentation container for 14 days or until fermentation stops. Secondary Fermentation container with one package of Gelatin per directions for at least 7 days. Place in container adding 1 cup of Dextrose and bottle immediately. | |||||||
Tasting: | Produces a excellant serious tasting "Dry" porter. I often mix a half glass of this beer with a half glass of my other regular beers to produce different taste sensations. |
