Red Baron Ale

A light body introduction to a Porter, my first attempt.
This beer was actually an atempt at an American Red Ale.

Beer: Red Baron Ale Style: Robust Porter
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 6 gallons
Color:
73 HCU (~28 SRM)
Bitterness: 41 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: ArrowHead Moutain spring water.
Grain: 1.5 lb. American crystal 60L
.25 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
.5 lb. American chocolate
.25 lb. Roasted barley
Steep: 30 min @ 150° F
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.041 7.5 gallons
7.5 lb. Light malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Perle (8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 1 min.)
Yeast: WLP 001 California Ale with 500 ml starter

Secondary 14 days @ 70° F
1 gallon lost during racking
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 3.06 oz. for 5 gallons @ 68°F
Tasting: After being bottled for 3 weeks, the flavors have blended very well. Creamy head, lace down the glass, but a little too much roasted flavor for what I was trying for.
