Water: | For boil, water was preboiled one hour and allowed to set. The make-up water to top off the fermenter was run straight from the tap. | |||||||
Grain: | 4 oz. Belgian CaraMunich 2 oz. Caraffa II - Dehusked German Choc. 2 oz. Roasted barley |

Steep: | Placed crushed grains in a muslin sack. Heated 2 quarts of water to 160 °F and added grains. Steeped for 30 minutes. Strained tea through grain bag while adding to the brew kettle. Sparged grains with quart water. | |||||||

Log: | Single stage fermentation, 8 days at 67 °F - 68 °F. | |||||||
Carbonation: | Carbonated with 4.5 Tsp of corn sugar in a pint of boiled water. | |||||||
Tasting: | Good beer. Hop bitterness balances malty flavor well. Faint hop aroma along with a hint of malt. Good dark red/brown color. |
