SRS special

This is simply a beer that I concocted on the Recipator. It is not a heavy beer and has been enjoyed by everyone that has tasted it. It is pleasing to the lite beer drinker as well as the connoisseur.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
89 HCU (~32 SRM)
Bitterness: 23 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.6% w/w)
Grain: 6 oz. Belgian chocolate
6 oz. Flaked barley
Steep: I steeped the grains using a fruit bag.40 min. in 1.5 gal. H2O
Boil: 45 min. minutes SG 1.184 1.5 gallons
6 lb. 0 oz. Dark malt extract
1 lb. 0 oz. Brown sugar
Hops: 2.13 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 45 min.)
2.13 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Safbrew dry brewing yeast s-33
Carbonation: 4oz. priming sugar at bottling
Tasting: The beer left no lingering after taste and was less bitter that most Porters I tried.
