12 oz. British crystal 50-60L
12 oz. British chocolate
4 oz. British black patent
Mash: 78% efficiency
mash 3 gallons @ 170°f to reach 153°f for 70 minutes
brought temp up with 2 gallons of 200°f water to mash out @ 170°f set for 10 minutes
sparged with 3 gallons of water @ 170°f for 30 minutes
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.053 6.5 gallons
i added 5 oz dark chocolate baking powder in the boil
Hops: 1 oz. Perle (8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 7 min.)
Yeast: british ale yeast
Log: fermented at 68°f
