Water: Municipal water, double filtered: one sediment, one charcoal
Grain: 8 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. American crystal 60L
1 lb. American chocolate
1 lb. Roasted barley
4 oz. Rolled oats
Mash: 67% efficiency
155 mash for 60 minutes, mash out and rinse at 170
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.041 6.5 gallons
Irish moss at 15 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.2% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.2% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs 001 California Ale, made 750mL starter then split this into two 1250 mL starters
Log: Soak 2 cut up vanilla beans in 1c Jameson's Whiskey plus 2 oz heavy toasted oak cubes in 1c Jameson's whiskey for 1 week. Filter and add both to secondary at racking.
Carbonation: force carbonated in keg
