Water: bottled spring water
Grain: 1.5kg Belgian CaraMunich
1.5kg British crystal 50-60L
0.5kg British chocolate
500g Roasted barley
1kg Flaked barley
Steep: Steep for one hour.
Boil: 120 minutes SG 1.111 25 liters
6kg Light malt extract
1kg Light dry malt extract
Hops: 100g nugget (12% AA, 90 min.)
30g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 45 min.)
30g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
40g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 20 min.)
Yeast: Saf ale yeast.
Log: Put primary fermenter at 70F for 2 weeks.
Secondry at 60F for 4 weeks.
Carbonation: 1 cup of DME.
Tasting: This stout needs to be aged at least 6 months otherwise it is just to bitter.
So malty you can almost chew it.
I will be brewing this again.
But with more hops to get an IBU of about 160.
