Beer: Avoine stout Style: Oatmeal Stout
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 2.25 gallons
Color:
224 HCU
Bitterness: 34 IBU
OG: 1.075 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 7.1% v/v (5.6% w/w)
Water: I use bottle water, no additional treatment
Grain: 2.4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
4.8 oz. British chocolate
4.8 oz. British black patent
0.60 lb. Flaked oats
Steep: Steep the grain to 155 deg. remove grain then bring wort to a boil
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.113 1.5 gallons
1.90 lb. Dark malt extract
1.81 lb. Dark dry malt extract
Add Irish moss at 15 min and Malt Dextrine at flame out
Hops: 0.51 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
0.26 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
0.26 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP004 Irish Ale. Ferment at 68 deg. for 2 wks,
