Oatmeal Stout
Figured it was time for us to make an oatmeal stout, as they're (I guess) really common among homebrewers. Anyways, here goes!

Steep: | Steeped in five mueslin bags while boiling. When it came to a boil, we removed the bags and rinsed into the boil with clean water. | |||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.040 | 6.5 gallons | |||||
3.3 lb. Light malt extract 2 lb. Light dry malt extract |

At T-15 minutes we added 1 teaspoon of Irish Moss. | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Fuggles (5.7% AA, 60 min.) .5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 45 min.) .5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 30 min.) .5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 15 min.) .5 oz. Fuggles (aroma) |

Yeast: | Used a Whitelabs Irish Ale liquid yeast. No starter, no proofing, just dumped the vial into the primary. | |||||||
Log: | Two weeks in primary, racked to secondary for another two weeks. | |||||||
Carbonation: | Used 8oz Light DME for priming. | |||||||
Tasting: | Absolutely sublime. Chocolatey aroma, bit of a nutty flavor, velvety mouthfeel typical of oatmeal stouts. Clean finish. I'm quite proud. |
