Peppermint Patty Stout

Add chocolate and peppermint flavorings to taste (go easy! a little goes a long way with these flavorings in my experience) during secondary carbonation.

Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
104 HCU (~36 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Grain: 7 lb. British pale
8 oz. British chocolate
8 oz. British black patent
8 oz. Rolled oats
Mash: 80% efficiency
Single Temp Infusion 155 degrees for 35 minutes.
Boil: 120-180 minutes SG 1.039 6.5 gallons
Use additives at your discretion.
Hops: 1.5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Any English Ale yeast should work. No need to get high and mighty with this one.
