a dry, even amber spiced with generous corriander

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
7 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 17 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 3.7% v/v (2.9% w/w)
Water: 100% pure rochester tap
Grain: 2 lb. British pale
.5 lb. Wheat malt
1 lb. Light Crystal malt (45L)
Steep: single-infusion mash; steep grains in 2 gal water @ 158*F for 60 min.
Sparge with .5 gal
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.109 2 gallons
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
add dry malt extract @ start of boil

add 1.5oz freshly crushed corriander and steep for additional 5min when adding aroma hops
Hops: .75 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer Hersbrucker (aroma)
.5 oz. Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs British Ale pitchable yeast #WLP 005
Log: Brewed 10.06.02; fermented @ 76*F for 7 days
add an additional .5oz of crushed corriander @ day 5 of fermentation; bottled 10.13.02
Carbonation: .5 lb priming sugar
Tasting: a dry, sharp amber with noticable corriander overtones. drier than i anticipated, most likely i bottled too soon...good nonetheless! maybe next time!
