Harley's Summer Ale
This is to be a nice easy drinking summer "lawnmower" beer.

Water: | The water I will use is 1/2 R.O. water and 1/2 City water which will be charcoal filtered to remove the chlorine. It will be treated with 1/4 oz. Calcium Chloride to 10 gallons of water. Of course you will want to know the make-up of your water before doing this. |

Grain: | 8 lb. American 2-row .5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils) 2 lb. Corn (raw) |

Mash: | 70% efficiency | |||||||
Mash will be at 150 deg. F. and the time will be approximately 60 min. or until an iodine test shows complete conversion. This one may mash out quicker than this. |

Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.042 | 6.5 gallons | |||||
.5 tsp. Irish Moss in boil 15 minutes. | ||||||||
Hops: | 1.02 oz. Cascade (5.6% AA, 15 min.) 1.36 oz. Crystal (4.6% AA, 15 min.) |

Yeast: | The yeast will be Wyeast 1056 American Ale which will be the 4th generation for this yeast, however it is producing a very clean product. I will use at least a 2 qt. starter. |
