Snakebite Imperial IPA
This is my first IPA. It will be quite a while before it is ready. It is going to be racked until late spring with a bit of oak chips or into a oak wine cask if I can find one!

Steep: | Steeped both bags in 2 gal. until boiling and then pulled off heat and let set for another half hour or so. Sparge grains with 3/4 gallons of 150 deg. water. | |||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.142 | 3 gallons | |||||
9 lb. Light dry malt extract | ||||||||
1/2 tsp Irish Moss | ||||||||
Hops: | 3 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.) 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.) 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.) 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.) .5 oz. Cascade (aroma) |

Log: | Dry hopped with 1 1/2oz. of Cascade flowers. | |||||||
Carbonation: | 3/4 cup dextrose | |||||||
Tasting: | I didn't oak it, but it came out great! It brings a rim of tear to your eye from the bitterness, but man it is good! |
