2005 Big Brew IPA

This was half of our offering for the 2005 Homebrewers day. I modified it just a bit and it's a little high for style.

Alcohol: 9.0% v/v (7.1% w/w)
Grain: 2 lb. 8 oz. Rahr 2-row
8 oz. Durst Wheat Malt
1 lb. Simpsons Medium Crystal 60L
8 oz. Briess Organic Cara-Pils Malt
2 lb. 8 oz. Weyermann Rye Malt
Mash: 70% efficiency
Boil: 70+ minutes SG 1.071 6 gallons
3 lb. 0 oz. Light dry malt extract
2 lb. 8 oz. Amber dry malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 70 min.)
2 oz. Columbus (12% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 30 min.)
1.5 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 0 min.)
1 oz. Columbus (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast American Ale II smack-pack
Log: Brewed on Saturday, 07 May 2005. Preceded by our group toast at 1100 MDT.
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Keg: 6.8 psi @ 40°F
