Grain: 6 lb. American 2-row
2 lb. American Munich
1 lb. Belgian biscuit
.5 lb. Honey Malt
1.5 lb. Flaked rye
Mash: 60% efficiency
- Pour boiling water into mash tun to raise it's temp. Discard.
- Add 3 gal of water at 166° F
- Dough in at 154° F in grain bag. 60 minute mash.
- Take first runnings, add 1.5 to 2 gal of 170° F water to sparge.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.059 4 gallons
Hops: 1 oz. Magnum (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: WLP001 California Ale Yeast
