tru brews: new double I.P.A-"Hops smuggling"
This is a new true brew kit i saw its pricey but nice deal really. There is 7oz. of hop pellets 8.6 # of dry and liq. malt mixed .. i adjusted a little by gettin a whole leaf hop . 1 more pound of malt (200gms for the starter) the rest for the wort..it comes with fermentis US-5 dry ale yeast.. (might add a little for good mesure! )

Yeast: | 1272 wyeast amer.ale 2 plus 1/2 packet of fermentis US-05 dry ale yeastthe wyeast went into a 64oz. starter growler with air lock 200gm. of light DME. to 2 qt. of water boil for 10 min cool till 70 degrees F ferment for 24-48 hrs at 68F or till foam begins to rise add 1/2tsp of FERMAX just before yeast is pitched into growler | |||||||
Log: | Use blow off tube to collect krussen after 3-5 days rack 6.5gal carboy to secondary carboy 5gal.(all glass)with air lock. Dry hop: add hop bag with pellets and whole leaf hops let sit 7 more days or till final sg is reached age bottled beer for 4 weeks then chill and enjoy | |||||||
