Tank 7.1 (Lower Gravity Tank 7 Clone)

This was a first attempt at making a lower-alcohol version of Boulevard Tank 7

Dry hop with 1 ounce in secondary for 4 days or so

Type: All grain Size: 6 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 35 IBU
OG: 1.060 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.6% w/w)
Grain: 10 lb. Belgian Pale
2 lb. Flaked corn
1 lb. 4 oz. White Wheat
Mash: 72% efficiency
Infuse 4.14 gallons (16.56 quarts) at 166.7488 degrees(F) to hit 151
Mash out with 2.32 gallons (9.3 quarts) boiling water
Sparge with an additional 2 gallons at 183 degrees
Due to my schedule on brew day, I let the mash sit for about 2.5 hours.
I also boiled for 1/2 hour before adding hops to bring the gravity up
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.048 7.5 gallons
Hops: 0.2 oz. Magnum (15% AA, 60 min.)
.2 oz. Bravo (15.5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Amarillo (aroma)
1 oz. Amarillo (aroma)
Yeast: American Farmhouse Blend (Platinum Series) (White Lab #670) Yeast-Ale

Tasting: The color turned out to be more like 12 SRM - way too dark for a Tank 7 clone, If you're concerned about that then either use a lighter base malt or stir a lot to prevent carmelization. The maltiness really comes through - more so than in actual Tank 7.
At 10 weeks, this seems to have peaked.

Bottom Line : This turned out to be a really tasty beer, even though it missed the "Tank 7" mark.
