Haidee Red Ale

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
25 HCU (~14 SRM)
Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: treat water with up to 1/2 teaspoon of gypsum
Grain: 1.0 lb. American crystal 40L
Steep: Bring 1 gallon water with grain to boil,
remove heat, let sit for 30 minutes and discard grain.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.105 2.5 gallons
6. lb. Amber malt extract
0.5 lb. Brown sugar
Add 1 teaspoon of Irish Moss,
Add up to 2 oz. malt-dextrine
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: nottingham dry yeast with/starter
Carbonation: corn sugar carbonation
