Bear Mountain Pale Ale

Great. This batch turned out great. A friend, who does not
like homebrew, actually ask for a second.

Beer: Bear Mountain Pale Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 28 IBU
OG: 1.057 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.0% v/v (4.7% w/w)
Water: I use the one gallon jugs of water from my local market. Two gallons for
one dollar. No adjustments.
Grain: 8 oz. British crystal 70-80L
Steep: I placed the grain in the loose cheese cloth and brought the
heat up to 170° . I took it off the heat and let stand for 30 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.142 2 gallons
7 lb. 8 oz. Light malt extract
Hops: 1.5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: I used California WLP 001 liquid yeast at roon temperture.
Log: HEY! KEY NOTE! I use large ice cubes to cool the wort. From boiling to
pitching it took only 19 minutes. I pitched at 69 degrees. I use two
one liter water bottles and then just cut them down the sides.
I brew on the 28 Oct and placed in the secondary on the 6th of Nov.
I then bottled on the 15 Nov.
Tasting: No Change.
