Lil' Irish Lad
This is a beer I brewed for the occasion of St. Pats Day 2001. It is a pale ale with a fair amoung of rye malt in it for a spicy flavor. The German Tettnangs make it have a noble hop aroma.

Grist mashed in 3 gallons. Rested for 1 hour 10 minutes at 150F. Sparged to yield 6 gallons of sweet wort. | ||||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.046 | 6 gallons | |||||
1/2 tsp . irishmoss boiled for 20 minutes. | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 60 min.) 1 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 15 min.) |

Yeast: | White Labs European Ale Yeast | |||||||
Log: | yeast pitched at 65F and fermented for 3 days. Gelatin finings added and colledt o 60F. Conditioned for additional 4 days. | |||||||
Carbonation: | Conditioned for 1 week at 70F with 3/4 cup corn sugar. | |||||||
Tasting: | Turned out to be slightly spicy in hop bitterness balanced with dry rye malt flavor. Medium bodied with hop nose of slight pepper complexity. Color turned out to be light amber orange colored. Well carbonated with a head that lasts until the bottom of the glass. |
