Water: | 3 gallons of Spring Water from a source in Central Pennsylvania for the boil. Distilled water to top up fermenter. | |||||||
Grain: | 1 lb. American crystal 60L | |||||||
Steep: | Put grains in one or two grain bags & slowly bring up to about 160°f. Cover & let steep for 25-30 minutes. | |||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.100 | 3 gallons | |||||
6 lb. 9 oz. Breiss Light malt extract 1 lb. Laaglander Light dry malt extract |

Irish moss added at 15 minutes remaining in the boil. | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.) 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.) 1 oz. Cascade (aroma) |

Yeast: | 1 pitchable tube of Wyeast 1056 American Ale. | |||||||
Log: | Will rack to secondary in about 7 days & bottle after another 7-10 days in the secondary. | |||||||
Carbonation: | 2.7 volumes | Corn Sugar: 5.00 oz. for 5 gallons @ 68°F | ||||||
I typically use 5 oz. of Corn Sugar as a primer for bottling. |
