Full Tilt Ale

A great pale ale recipe. Good for beginner to intermediate brewers.

Beer: Full Tilt Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 53 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.2% w/w)
Water: I used bottled water (Great Bear) and a little Gypsum in the boil.
Grain: 0.75 lb. American crystal 20L
1.8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: All grains were steeped together in a muslin bag in 2 gallons of water
for 45 minutes at 170°.
Sparged with 1 gallon of 170° water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.103 3 gallons
6.6 lb. Light dry malt extract
Irish Moss in the boil as well as gypsum.
Hops: 1.75 oz. Nugget (12.2% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Nugget (12.2% AA, 15 min.)
.25 oz. Nugget (12.2% AA, 2 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast London Ale Yeast.
Log: Primary Fermenter 4 days.
Secondary Fermenter 10 days.
Tasting: Just bottled. Samples though were mighty tasty.
