Easy Pale ale with emphasis on EKG hops

16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 33 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: Approx 1 Tbls CaCl2 in strike water
Grain: 8 lb. American 2-row
10 lb. Belgian Pilsner
2 lb. American crystal 80L
Mash: 90% efficiency
Strike water was pretty hot during dough in.
Temp stablized about 70°C. Add some cold water
Temp stable at 65°C. Hold for 45 minutes start
circulation for 15 minutes. Start sparge. Just
for fun added approz 1 oz. EKG pellets to mash.
Boil: minutes SG 1.051 13 gallons
Boil 60 minutes. add 2 whirl flocs at 10min out
Hops: 3 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 20 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 10 min.)
2 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: 800 mls Wyeast Irish ale 1084
