Plain Ale

I wanted a basic beer that had no extras getting in the way of the flavors.

Beer: Plain Ale Style: American Pale Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
3 HCU (~3 SRM)
Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: I used tap water but my tap water is spring water with very little added.
Grain: 9 lb. American 2-row
Mash: 77% efficiency
Single infusion mash. 1.33qts./lb. 154 rest for 60 minutes. Batch Sparge in 2 phases to get full boil amount. I got 77% Efficiency this way.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.039 6.5 gallons
1 Whirflock Tablet @15
Hops: .5 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: Nottingham Dry Yeast
