1 lb. 0 oz. Belgian aromatic
1 lb. 0 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
0 lb. 8 oz. Rice (raw)
1 lb. 0 oz. American crystal 60L
Mash: 80% efficiency
mash in 2 gallons 122° / 116° rest / 20 minutes
add 1 gallon 158° water / 128° rest / 30 minutes
add 1 gallon 168° water / 138° rest / 20 minutes
add 2 gallons 170° water / 148° rest / 20 minutes
add 1 gallon 200° water / 152° rest / 35 minutes
add 1 gallon 200° water mash out / 10 minutes
recirculated 2.5 gallons, drain into boilpot adding no more water
45 minute lauter
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.035 7 gallons
irish moss at 10 minutes
Hops: 2 oz. Cascade (5% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: wyeast 2124 bohiemian lager
Log: hops were actually a glacier/cascade mix of fresh frozen hops from my garden.
Preboil gravity 1.032
eff 84%
ferment at 65° for 2 days, then slowly lower temp to 50°,transfer after a week, then lager at 40° 6 weeks w/ a diacytal rest at 3 weeks.
SG 1.042
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Keg: 13.4 psi @ 40°F
