Bun In The Oven

Brewed in honor of my little brew buddy due November 10th. I can't wait to meet him!

Beer: Bun In The Oven Style: American Wheat
Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 14 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: 1 TBS 5.2 Stabilizer, 1 tsp gypsum
Grain: 4 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
8 oz. Flaked barley
4 lb. 10 oz. Raw wheat
Mash: 80% efficiency
15 quarts 169F water. Mash at 150F for 60 min. Pull 1 gallon decoction and add to 1 gallon boiling water, heat to boil and return to mash for mash out of 165F. Sparge with 175F water to collect 7.5 gallons in brewpot
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.036 7.5 gallons
Hops: .5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Safale US-05
Log: On brew day, chop 1 1/2 Madagascar vanilla beans and seal with 2 oz high quality vodka. Add infused vodka at kegging/bottling.
