Honey Amber
Version 2 of this beer. the original was extract and specialty grain and was good enough to inspire me to do a mini-mash version.
Actual grain bill has malted rye instead of flaked rye, honey malt (gambrinus) for the 20 L American crystal and Caramunich 1 for the British Carastan.

Tasting: | All extract version is very smooth and drinkable after 2 weeks in the bottle. Nicely balanced between malt & hops, neither dominate. Good summer beer. the only thing I am changing about this recipe is converting it to a mini-mash and tweaking the grains. I am doubling the malted rye to a full pound and reducing the caramunich 1 by half to 4 oz. |
