Water: Unfiltered, untreated municipal tap
Grain: 4.0 oz. Wheat malt
8.0 oz. American crystal 20L
8.0 oz. American crystal 40L
8.0 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8.0 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
4.0 oz. British black patent
Steep: Steeped grains 40 minutes @ 160°F
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.040 6.5 gallons
5.0 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1.0 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (8% AA, 30 min.)
1.0 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 5 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Saved a Burton (WLP023) from the secondary of a previous batch, boosted to 800 mL starter 24 hours prior to pitching.
Log: The last half ounce of Cascade should be dry hopped
The OG was closer to 1.052 and the IBU's about 31 according to ProMash
One cup brown cane sugar boiled in one pint of water added to secondary, to lift alcohol content ;']
Carbonation: Bottled with 6 oz DME for 5 gallons to get a medium-low carb.
