Clifton Gardens Brown Ale
This recipe should yeild a nice mellow brown ale similar to some of
the ales I had while studying in Britain for a semester.

Grain: | 8 lb. British pale .5 lb. Wheat malt 1 lb. British crystal 50-60L 2 oz. British black patent .5 lb. British chocolate |

Mash: | 75% efficiency | |||||||
simple infusion mash at 154 degree f. mash for sixty minutes and then mashout for 20 min at 170. Sparge with five gallons of 175 degree water over 45 minutes or more. |

Irish moss the last 20 minutes | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.) .5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.) .5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma) |

Yeast: | wyeast London III from a previous batch. | |||||||
Log: | Ferment at 65 degrees for two weeks and bottle age for one month. | |||||||
Carbonation: | bottle condition with 1/2 cup corn sugar to achive medium-low carbonatio typical of english cask ales. |
