Puppy Porter
This recipe is an experiment in the re-use of some wit yeast. It is not meant to be an authentic porter, but its own unique style. It is classified and named a porter, as that it what it most closely resembles. It is also the same color as our chocolate lab puppy, hence the name.

Tasting: | 11/16/01 Smooth and roasty. Very well balanced beer. Orange peel and fruitiness from yeast is difficult to detect, but beer has a well-rounded and full taste that would probably be missing without the orange peel and yeast. Overall and excellent beer, but I would not call it an authentic porter by any strech. I believe it will not hit its peak until at least January. |
