This beer turned out better than expected. It took 1st place in the American Amber Ale division at the Iowa State Fair, and scored 36.5 points.

Steep: | Placed grains in a grain bag and poured 3 gallons cold water over it, heated to 150° and held for 30 minutes. Sparged grains with 170° water. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat, add dry malt extract, and return to a boil for 60 minutes adding hops at the appropriate times. | |||||||
