Sierra Estrella Hopping Toad Amber

Beer: Sierra Estrella Hopping Toad Amber Style: American Amber Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
15 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 48 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: 4 gallons RO Water + 2 gallons softened water
Grain: 12 oz. American Munich
1 lb. American crystal 20L
Steep: Split grains into 2 cheescloth bags. Steeped at 150ºF for 40 minutes in 1.5 gallons. Sparged grains with ½ Gal. of 170ºF water
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.044 6.5 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 Teaspoon Irish Moss for 30 min.
¼ Tsp. yeast nutrient for 30 min.
Hops: .25 oz. Liberty (4.4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Northern Brewer (7.1% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Hallertau -German (5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Liberty (4.4% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Coopers Dry Ale Yeast in 2-cups of wort for 2½ hours.
Log: Dry hop with 1 oz of Willamette & 1 oz Liberty (whole hop) in bag.
Carbonation: Prime with 3/4 cup corn sugar & bottle
