Random IPA

I was initially trying to brew something along the lines of Harpoon's IPA. I decided that I would kick it up a notch and boost the hops

Brewer: Dan Shookowsky Email: d_shookowsky@excite.com
Beer: Random IPA Style: India Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 10 gallons
Color:
14 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 78 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 4.6% v/v (3.6% w/w)
Water: Added 2 tablespoons of gypsum
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 40L
8 oz. American Special Roast
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.046 11 gallons
13.2 lb. Light malt extract
2 tablespoons of Irish moss used at 45 mins
Hops: 2 oz. Chinook (11.9% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Chinook (11.9% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (7.3% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (7.3% AA, 5 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: I used wyeast American Ale II for a slightly fruiter flavor to play against the agressive hops
Log: Used 2oz of the Cascade to dryhop for a week.
Tasting: I guess it was due to the dryhopping, but it took a while to clear this beer. The aggressive hop schedule needs a little time to mature (about 3 weeks minimum).
