A big IBU IPA inspired by some hop forward beers from Surly (Furious and Abbrasive) and Bells (Hopslam).

Steep: | Steep grains in 2 gallons at 160°F for 30 min, sparge grains with 170° water then top off to 5.5-6 gallons of hot (almost boiling)water and begin boil. | |||||||

Late extract addition for all 6.6 lbs of LME (at 30 to 15 mins) to keep the color as light as possible. Add Irish Moss at 15 mins. | ||||||||

Yeast: | Wyeast 1056 - American Ale, with starter | |||||||
Log: | Dry hop with 1 oz Cascade for a nice citrusy, floral aroma. Add 0.5 lb clover honey in secondary (experimental to try and off set some of the hops and balance the beer. Should also add some body). | |||||||
Carbonation: | 2.0 oz corn sugar and bottle condition. | |||||||
Tasting: | Should be pretty hop forward, balance value is quite high at 1.37 |
