Parti-gyle ESB/ Session Ale
This recipe is formulated as a high gravity 5 gal. batch, but it will be split and diluted to make two ales of different gravities. They will be boiled and hopped separately. The intent is to create an ESB of about 1.050 and an Ordinary bitter of about 1.034.

Mashed at 152°F for a dry finish. Batch sparged to yield two separate run offs of 4 gal. The first is expected to be significantly higher gravity. | ||||||||
Boil: | 90 minutes | SG 1.093 | 5 gallons | |||||
Each 4 gal. run off is boiled separately. Leaf hops are used in a hop back. This will make it easier to collect all of the liquid at final racking. | ||||||||
Hops: | 2 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 90 min.) 2 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.) |

Yeast: | Safale 023, one sachet for each 5 gal. fermented. | |||||||
Carbonation: | Primed with 1/2 cup corn sugar for low-medium carbonation. |
