Left Coast Lager
Here we go...my first attempt at a lager. Well a California Common at least which is close enough for now (hence the name "Left Coast" Lager.

Dough in and hold at 125° for 30 minutes, raise temp to 150° and hold for 90 minutes. Mashout at 168° and batch sparge with 168° water. | ||||||||

Yeast: | White Labs WLP810 San Francisco Lager stepped up from a pitchable vial to a 1000ml starter with gravity of 1.040 36 hours prior to pitching into wort. This yeast is used to produce the "California Common" style beer. A unique lager strain which has the ability to ferment up to 65 degrees while retaining lager characteristics. Can also be fermented down to 50 degrees for production of marzens, pilsners and other style lagers. Attenuation: 65-70; Flocculation: High; Optimum Ferm. Temp: 58-65 |
