2 lb. 8 oz. American crystal 40L
2 lb. 8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 75% efficiency
Actual wort was supplied by Half Moon Brewery for the club.
75% Pale Ale Malt
12.5% Carapils
12.5% Caramel 40 L
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.047 12 gallons
1 lb. 0 oz. Rice extract
Rice syrup solids added at 60 minutes
Irish Moss at 10 minutes
Hops: 2 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Was split into 2 carboys. Nottingham used in first, Safale 04 used in 2nd. Both yeasts were rehydrated in 1 quart of wort for 1 hour.
Log: Fermented in garage w/ average temp of 60 degrees (little warmer during day, little cooler at nite)
Carbonation: 1.2 volumes Corn Sugar: 1.01 oz. for 9 gallons @ 60°F
