BaccaChew Wheat

This is my first partial mash recipie. I am brewing it a second time since the first batch tasted so good. It's a simple, light, slightly sweet beer that pleases me and my bud drinking friends alike.

Type: Partial mash Size: 5 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 4.6% v/v (3.6% w/w)
Grain: 2 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. Wheat malt
0 lb. 8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
0 lb. 8 oz. American crystal 20L
Mash: 60% efficiency
Mash grain at about 154°F for 1 hour, sparge with 1.5 gallons of 170° water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.034 6.5 gallons
2 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Wheat extract
0 lb. 8 oz. Honey
Irish moss added 15 minutes before end of boil. Honey added at flameout.
Hops: 1 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 20 min.)
Yeast: Pitched 2 packs of Danstar Nottinghan dry ale yeast, rehydrated.
Tasting: My first attempt at this turned out good, though I had to compensate for a boilover, so I am not sure of the gravities. Second batch on the way.
