Hermione Brown Ale #1

Tried to make a british brown. Didn't work well.

Brewer: George Howell Email: ghowell@alumni.ubalt.edu
Beer: Hermione Brown Ale #1 Style: English Brown
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
38 HCU (~18 SRM)
Bitterness: 15 IBU
OG: 1.030 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 2.0% v/v (1.5% w/w)
Water: none
Grain: 4 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
8 oz. Belgian Special B
2 oz. British chocolate
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.076 2 gallons
3.5 lb. Light malt extract
3.6 oz. Molasses
Hops: 0.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.5% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: wlp 005
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 3.19 oz. for 5 gallons @ 72°F
Tasting: No body, too bitter for what I was looking for. IBU level is probably okay if the beer had more body. Works well for cooking. For some reason, the recipator really munged my results. Either that, or my LHBS didn't give me what they said they did. My OG was 1.036.

Need to cool faster next time.
