Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.061 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 5.9% v/v (4.7% w/w)
Water: Bottled Spring Water
Grain: 8 lb. British pale
12 oz. American crystal 120L
8 oz. American chocolate
8 oz. Roasted barley
1 lb. Flaked oats
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 75% efficiency
Mash at 155 degrees for 60 minutes
Add chocolate and Roatsed Barley at mash out.
Mash out at 168 degrees for 15 minutes
Sparge to collect 6.5 gallons of wort
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.047 6.5 gallons
Add Chinook hops with 60 minutes remaining.
Hops: 1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Slurry from 1000ml starter of Wyeast Irish Ale #1084
Log: Brewed 12-15-02. Transferred to secondary 12-22-02.
Gravity was 1.021 at that time. will do secondary for
2- weeks.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup priming sugar.
