This is my first batch ever so it could be crap.

Steep: | Steeped the grains while it was first cold water until it reached 150° then I let uit steep for an additional 20 minutes or so. | |||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.103 | 3 gallons | |||||
8 lb. Light malt extract | ||||||||
I added some star anise, nutmeg, honey, cocoa and some vanilla extract to the mix. I didn't like the star anise smell..so I took it out after 5 minutes. but who knows maybe it will make this be great beer (yeah right) | ||||||||
Hops: | 1 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 60 min.) 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 45 min.) 1 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 15 min.) |

Tasting: | I tasted the wort and it tasted like shit, (too bitter) I hope it mellows a bit after it ferments. I think I chose the wrong hops..oh well, its all for fun anyway. Next batch will be better. |
